Trader-BOB's MUSIC offers a Vintage 1930's Rickenbacher Rickenbacker, Lap Steel Guitar. Richenbacher on the haed stock logo. Looks a lot like a Model "B", but has a wooden body, and bolt on wooden neck. Tone control on the bass side, volume control on the treble side. Electronics works. Loose connection tin the 1/4" jack receptacle, and a little scratchyness in the pots. One of the pickup adjuster knurled nuts is missing. Both control knobs have a block looking arrow on top, and have screw driver type set screws, not allen heads. The set screw in the white knob will not turn, afraid to force it, will not tighten up on the shaft. Well worn black wrinkle finish. The tuners, are 3 on a plate, they work, but do not look original. The lower tip of the plate is just slightly too long , and hits the angle change, in the neck wrist, on the backside of the headstock. . The #3 string button shaft is bent. The buttons themselves look period for this guitar. The nickel plated cover is missing from the treble side. With this area open, (and the weight of the guitar), it is very evident this is a wooden body, and not bakelite. These covers, look to be nickel plated steel, not plastic. are held on by small nail heads, with the exception of a screw placed in the lower part of the bass side plate. 1-1/2" wide horse shoe magnet pickup. Sounds strong. Inlayed steel plate tailpiece, not thru the body strings. The 23 fret fret board is covered with clear plastic, with a metal binding on the edges. There is a serial number stamped on top of the headstock, F198019, no info on the internet. The last pix, is of the tone control pot. In an attempt to date this by the potentiometer. Only states "500000,,C,,IRC", no other markings. IRC, International Resistance Company, founded in 1928. Pots weren't dated much until the mid 1940's. Measures, 1-1/4" OD. Wiring looks 1930's. This is a PROJECT, FOR RESTORATION. Not up to it??? Please do not bid / BUY ! Look at my feedback, buy with confidence !
